Role and Stats

Shamans also have powerful dots that cause Poison, Disease and Magic damage. They also have Direct Damage spells which deal Cold and Poison damage, along with a single Fire based nuke gained at level 1. Shamans have the most powerful slowing spells and resistance debuffs in the game. This greatly reduces the damage output of the enemy and also assists the entire party, making it easier for everyone to land their spells on the target. Shaman buffs are fantastic, they are able to increase all statistics except for Wisdom and Intelligence. They also have spells to increase your HP and AC, SoW to help you run faster, Haste to help you swing your weapons faster as well as utility spells like levitate, invisibility and their capstone spell Spirit of the Puma. Not only do Shamans have buffs, dots and nukes but they also have heals, heals over time and cures to remove debuffs that are on you. It is very helpful having a Cure for Disease since all the slows NPCs will cast on you are disease based. Shamans can use a lot of the one- or two-handed blunt weapons in the game and have a selection of piercing weapons at their disposal as well. Shamans have access to a permanent pet that you can equip with armor and weapons. You can also upgrade your pets with Motes of Potential, making them higher level along with other bonuses like more HP. Shaman's have charm but it only works on animals up to level 33.
